Symbols of Ancient Egypt

Lecture, 04/12/2021

Symbols permeate the entire vast culture of Egypt. Ancient man tried to describe the sacred through earthly images, to understand otherness through the symbols of being. Symbols are a kind of forms for easier understanding, conditional signs through which ancient man translated the World.

The lecture introduces the listener to the meaning of symbols among the Egyptians, such as the Name, the Alphabet, the understanding of God, animals, the Cross, the Egg as the beginning of the World and others. Those symbols that are present in our lives in certain situations and rituals, but have lost their original meaning given by their ancestors, have become perceived literally as reality.

The performance consists precisely in the relationship of each participant with a separate symbol through various sensory organs: sight, hearing, touch, etc. The performance is intended to show the invisible role of the past in modern life and the subsequent understanding of ancient symbols as the basis of the present!
